Canadian Employers (LMIA)
We understand the challenges you face in finding and retaining skilled workers for your business. You're not alone, and we have a solution. There's a pool of skilled foreign talent, both overseas and within Canada, eager to work. As a Canadian employer, you can hire these workers for up to 3 years, ensuring you find and keep the right talent, while you focus on growing your business. This pathway offers employer-specific closed-work permits allowing for greater chances of retaining the foreign worker.
The Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)
An LMIA is a request initiated by an employer seeking approval from the Canadian government to employ a foreign worker. This is based on the premise that the employer has been unable to locate a qualified Canadian citizen or permanent resident to fill the specified position.
Types of Pathways
Canadian companies may sponsor foreign candidates for skilled or semi-skilled positions. Dual Intent applications are designed to facilitate both a work permit and Permanent Residency for skilled positions.
Benefits of LMIA:
- 1-3-year contracts depending on your needs.
- Closed-work permits, meaning that candidates can only work for the company sponsoring them.
- Option for long-term contracts allowing your company to grow with committed manpower.
